Setup guide

From a draft competition to a connected platform.

Rehearse the complete workflow on the venue connection before using any online system in a live competition.

1. Create your competition

Sign in with a verified organizer account. Choose powerlifting, weightlifting or para powerlifting, then add the platforms your access covers. Drafts do not accept live decisions.

2. Activate the event

When payments open, choose a competition pass or subscription. Access is activated only after the server verifies payment. Pilot access is separately granted by the service operator.

3. Connect each device

Create an invitation for each referee position, jury position, operator and display. Open the assigned link or scan its QR code. Invitations are private; revoke any link that has been shared unintentionally.

4. Rehearse and check recovery

Submit a sample attempt, pause and resume the timer, and open the display fullscreen. Disconnect and reconnect a device. An uncertain submission must be reconciled before retrying. Check power, screen sleep, Wi-Fi coverage and a backup venue connection.

5. Run and close the competition

Keep connection indicators visible. The operator should confirm a deliberate reset before starting a new attempt. Close the competition afterward and export its history.

Choose and check your event window

When creating a draft, enter the scheduled start in your local time and check the saved UTC time in competition setup. A planned pass covers that named event for up to 72 hours from its scheduled start. A subscription reservation is also finite and depends on the organization’s platform allowance. The server prevents decisions before the reserved window starts or after access ends.

Check roles with the whole team

Ask each referee to read back the displayed platform and position. Verify that the operator can control the clock and that the display cannot submit decisions. Test a jury discussion hold with the assigned jury devices. Keep an organizer browser available to replace compromised links, view connection status and download history. Treat invitation URLs as private access credentials.

A practical pre-event rehearsal

Use three referee devices, an operator and your venue screen on the connection you will actually use. Run good-lift and no-lift examples, include reason cards where applicable, and reset a partial attempt deliberately. Reload the display while a result is visible and pause/resume a running clock. Brief officials on the difference between an accepted decision and a submission still waiting for confirmation.

Connectivity and a fallback procedure

Position access points for coverage at every official station, check venue uplink stability and arrange enough device power for the session. A second internet connection can form part of the organizer’s network plan, but switching networks still needs rehearsal. The separate installed Referee Lights product does not automatically resume a LiftRef competition. Agree an event procedure for an extended outage before competition day.
