About LiftRef

Used offline by the IPF and EPF. Now online.

The installed Referee Lights system has been used by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and European Powerlifting Federation (EPF). LiftRef is its online version, developed by ObsidianCorps in Differdange, Luxembourg.

Built by the team behind Referee Lights

ObsidianCorps has worked on the installed Referee Lights system, where a venue computer or Raspberry Pi serves official devices on the local network. The company’s published case study describes that product and its development. LiftRef is a separate online product with its own accounts, event access, database and release process. Experience with the installed system informs the competition workflow; its historical results do not establish uptime or federation certification for this new service.

A focused role on competition day

LiftRef coordinates referee decisions, an attempt timer, jury discussion and platform displays. It does not replace athlete registration, a full meet scoring system or the organizer’s competition rules. Three referees submit from assigned browsers. The server confirms accepted decisions, keeps pending colors private and reveals the result together. Organizers manage their own events and the private links issued to officials and screens.

Why offer both online and installed products?

A hosted service lets an organizer connect supported browsers directly to LiftRef without installing a venue server. That convenience depends on reliable internet access throughout the event. The separate installed product serves its devices through the venue network. Choose the operating model that fits your competition and connectivity plan; an active event does not automatically transfer between them.

Validation before commercial launch

The current website introduces an implemented release candidate and an interactive sample. Payments and general registration remain closed while merchant configuration, recovery drills, security review, sport-rule checks and real-device validation are completed. Proposed pricing is shown for review. A working demonstration is useful for learning the workflow; it is not evidence of completed production validation.

Work with the product team

Philippe Parage is identified as ObsidianCorps’ Technology Lead in the published Referee Lights case study. Contact the team with your sport, dates, platform count, venue connection and device requirements. Pilot arrangements are confirmed individually. Support hours and any event-day assistance will be stated in the commercial service terms before paid access opens.
